Spotlight: Wrongful Death

Wrongful Death Case

Our client in this wrongful death case was the extended family of a husband, wife, and infant child killed in a car-truck accident on the 710 Freeway. The car the family was riding in became sandwiched between two semi-trucks. When the first truck stopped suddenly, the truck behind them did not. Their car was pushed beneath the front truck and exploded in flame. Our investigation proved that the truck behind them was at fault for this tragic, fatal truck accident. Settlement was $1.5 million.

U.S. Government v. Client Wrongful Death Case

Our client was the family of a man who died in a boating collision with a buoy at night. The buoy was unlit and the boat was traveling at 25 knots when it hit. Because the driver had been drinking, he was ruled partially at fault for the accident and this diminished the amount of the settlement in complex wrongful death case against the U.S. government. Settlement was $200,000.

Small Plane Crash

Our client in this wrongful death case was the family of a 58-year-old realtor named Bob Fenrich who died in a small plane crash caused by pilot error. The $1.4 Million settlement provided support for the man's surviving spouse and an adult disabled child who still lived at home.

Carrol Case

Plaintiff's 18-year-old son died in fire from a defective Instant On T.V. He was staying overnight at a friends home. At approximately 2 a.m. a fireman saw flames coming from the home. He helped save the other two friends but couldn't reach the deceased in the den. The T.V. was a rental. Recovered $250,000 wrongful death from manufacturer.
